The MABAS Software

MABAS is Biocryptological management software that supports all of Hanscan’s systems processes as controlled by its administrator.

The MABAS software is included and installed in the System Control Unit, the core of every Hanscan solution and is the management component that stores all user and encrypted biometric data. The MABAS software stores all of the terminal events and manages the matching process of the secure biometric data, plus all user privileges are managed within the software.

The software is designed to operate within a network (intranet). This allows access to the server and management software from any computer. Access to the administrator level can be granted either with a username and password (one-factor security) or with our biometric SPADE terminal (three-factor security).

The OS is Linux and the database management system is PostgreSQL.

  • The software allows the creation of user groups, defining specific administrative privileges at multiple levels.
  • The MABAS software can be updated remotely and because of our complex security mechanisms that support robust authentication and coupled with the encryption process, the ability to inject malicious code into the system is prevented.

For every system, Hanscan has developed a specific MABAS application.

The MABAS software for access control and time & attendance systems is designed with all of the following values:
