Anti-tampering system
A hardware based anti-tampering system renders the Hanscan biometric terminals unusable in case of fraudulent handling.
For Hanscan’s access control terminals (HSC-AC-IT and HSC-AC-ST), the anti-tampering mechanism is designed to prohibit anyone opening the terminals or from physically removing them from their installed, fixed locations. Additionally, if a terminal is disconnected from its power supply, the anti-tampering mechanism is still activated, eliminating all the sensitive data from the terminal.
For Hanscan’s eTransaction devices such as the SPADE and MP terminals, the anti-tampering mechanism is also used to prohibit anyone opening these devices and gaining access to their internal data. Where an attacker attempts to open a Hanscan terminal, all of the locally stored data is also immediately rendered useless.
